Joaquín García guitar from 1963

An ideal classical guitar for lovers of vintage guitars.

The famous luthier Joaquín García

Joaquín García Fernandez was born in 1929 in Santa Cruz, Argentina. He lived in Spain from the age of 2 and was apprenticed to a cabinetmaker at 13. Opposed to the Spanish political regime, he returned to Argentina in 1949. He began working in a guitar-making workshop, where luthiers recognized his talent. He created his very first guitar in 1952. He then embarked on a lifelong research project into acoustics and guitar history. He finally returned to Spain with the arrival of the dictatorship in Argentina. In 1975, he joined the Raimundo y Aparicio company as an advisor, then headed for Torremolinos, where he set up his workshop in 1982. His son Nicolas takes over from him.
