Saturnino Rojas guitar 1909

An ideal classical guitar for lovers of vintage guitars.

The famous luthier Saturnino Rojas

Saturnino Rojas (1859 to 1937) was a Madrid luthier who made guitars, bandurrias and laúdes between 1880 and 1935. Saturnino opened his workshop at calle Atocha 115 in the 1880s. Rojas was Santos Hernandez’s first teacher. Saturnino lived above his studio with his sister and never married. When he retired in 1936, Marcelo Barbero and Manuel Rodriguez were interested in taking over his studio, but ultimately did not pursue the project.

Guitar sound

Deep, round musicality

The sound of Saturnino Rojas’s guitar is very round, with well-defined highs and very deep basses in which you can also feel the percussion of the cypress wood, making it a guitar of the highest quality.
