Guitar Juan Galán 1931
Galán’s instruments are distinguished by their sound and their manufacturing secrets. This great luthier is particularly renowned for the solidity of his guitars and the ease with which they can be played, allowing the left hand to be used without too much effort and without the unpleasant discomfort of fretting. As a guitarist himself, he knows all about the variations that instruments must have in their pulse and keys. An ideal classical guitar for lovers of vintage guitars.
The famous luthier Juan Galán Rodriguez
Famed Spanish guitar maker Juan Galán Rodriguez was born in Malaga on September 23, 1876. He was the son and disciple of the eminent guitar maker of the time, Juan Galán Caro, also from Málaga, who had learned his trade from Antonio Lorca (father). In his father’s workshop (Calle Torrijos, province of Málaga), Galán Rodriguez became a great master luthier. He left Spain to settle in Buenos Aires in 1906. There, he witnessed and contributed to the guitar revival that took place in the Argentine Republic from 1908 onwards. Every guitar enthusiast, great and small, has passed through his workshop.
Guitar sound
Deep, sweet and lyrical
This magnificent early guitar is one of the finest instruments of its time. The same model is featured in Sheldon Urlik’s collection book. You’ll appreciate the depth of its tone and bass. The sweetness of its treble also contributes to the lyrical charm of this jewel of lutherie.
